Firstly, the place is magnificent, very beautiful. The welcome was perfect! The food was very good... However, a few hours after our visit, three out of the four of us became very ill (food poisoning). This lasted almost two days. We sent a message to the restaurant to let them know, and the only response we received was, "This didn't come from us."

Wow... even while eating, I wondered if the sashimi had gone bad. Is this what Bali is supposed to be like? I ended up getting a stomachache, and even now, just going near Coral makes me feel nauseous and miserable.

In the end, I got gastroenteritis. The staff offered me water, but said the beer was 60,000 VND and the water was 70,000 VND. After I finished the water, they offered me more. They didn't inform me about the prices beforehand. The service seemed good, but since most places in Bali are friendly and have great service, I can't really tell the difference.

It felt like eating at an aquarium; it was smaller than I expected, and I didn't get the impression that it was anything special. Are there any Japanese people reading this? You should never go to this restaurant. It will ruin your precious memories.

I've written this incoherently, driven by anger and sadness, so some people may find it offensive. I'm sorry. But I'll be honest.

It was so bad I'm speechless. For the first time in my life, it was so bad that I almost cried. Towards the end of the course, I was dreading what kind of terrible food would come next.

Even I know that this is an exaggeration and rude to say objectively, but it was incredibly bad from start to finish. It was the first time I'd ever eaten food that was so bad, so I can't really put it into words. There was no flavor or taste of the ingredients. It was so bad that I began to doubt myself and wonder if there was something wrong with my senses. It was so bad that I almost cried for some reason.

The other foreign customers also looked gloomy, and not a single one of them seemed to be enjoying their food. There was one other Japanese group there, but I clearly heard them say it was "bad," so I assume they were feeling the same way. For some reason, it has received high reviews, so maybe some overseas people find it delicious, but I'm sure Japanese people wouldn't find it appetizing.
*The next day, I asked a Japanese staff member at the hotel, and he told me that the chefs at the restaurants on the hotel premises are connected. Apparently, the Coral Restaurant's menu is also overseen by a Japanese chef. Despite that, the quality is so low... I was even more disappointed. I did let them know that I didn't like the food and the reactions of other guests. They may have improved, so if you're feeling brave, please give it a try...

Other guests were probably there to celebrate a special occasion, as most of them received celebratory cakes. (The exact same cake, just on a different plate.) I was one of them. But it was so bad, I felt bad about leaving it. Other people were leaving it too. It felt like they were forcing themselves to eat it because it was expensive...

The staff were unenthusiastic, had a fussy attitude, wore loose, untidy clothing, and some were sloppy and didn't seem very clean. (I'm truly sorry for being rude.)
And so on and so forth... The hospitality was also quite disappointing. There were a few customers just wearing sandals and shorts, and the atmosphere aside from the aquarium was not worth the price.

Since it was an important day, we ordered the most expensive course. Including drinks, it came to 80,000 yen for two people.
Even though we were paying such a high price...
(Apparently, this restaurant is the most expensive in Bali.)
I felt anger, disgust, and, for the first time in my life, the nausea of having my stomach filled with bad food.
The Chinese restaurant they provided free because we were staying multiple nights was many times more delicious, the staff were very clean, and we had a wonderful time.
For this price in Japan, you can get the best experience at a first-class restaurant. (When I stayed at a four-star hotel in Kansai, the food, room, and hospitality were all absolutely amazing. It's hard to compare them all, but the price was cheaper than this hotel or restaurant, the food was delicious, and the staff were well-dressed in suits and served me with gentlemanly hospitality. I was so moved, I was overwhelmed.)

If you're planning on making special memories at the Coral Restaurant during your trip, please don't.

Use that money for a room upgrade or another restaurant. Please. I don't want anyone to have the same experience as me...

I'm almost in tears as I write this...

It was the last day of our honeymoon, and we had high hopes, so I'm so disappointed. I'm speechless. I feel so sorry for my husband and the restaurant staff, and I really hate to say it, but this restaurant ruined our trip. It left a bad taste in my mouth. It really made me feel awful. I wish we hadn't gone; it's so painful.

This reaffirmed just how poor the quality of Bali's restaurants is and how wonderful Japan is.
I'll just think of it as a pricey experience...
The nasi goreng and pork satay in Ubud were so much tastier...
