Menega Cafe

We took our decision with the google map reviews who looked incredible... well just look at mine first. We arrived at 6 pm with a beautiful sunset, the place was full, only places inside to eat.. well for sure we wait for outside spots because there is a ton of smoke inside from the grill. 20 minutes later we are seated. We order the house wine which was suprisingly really good for the cheap price. 32k. We go order up front, great service from there, we order crab, squid, tiger prawns and grilled clams... 50 minutes later.. looks like we had been forgotten there comes our food.. everything extremly cold, the crab was almost empty and looked sick, the fresh squid probably stayed on the counter too long but shrimp and the clams were a little warmer but still cold. I could see that it could of been good. Well we had to get out of there, too much smoke, my stomach starts cramping, I Almost left without paying but I d never do that I am sure they would charge the waiters (who did their best by the way). 5 minutes later after a little walk on the beach.. there goes my dinner in the bushes.. an out of nowhere puke.. my wife threw up seconds later.. after we were good. Very unfortunate.. maybe choose an other place on that beach.

I chose this restaurant because it is quite popular and somehow it is a tradition to eat by the beach in Jimbaran as Indonesian traveling to Bali. But this time I encountered a really bad experience.<br>1. They tried to scam us with the fish weight. We were only 2 people and I asked for the smallest fish possible (they said smallest will be 500-700gr) which the kitchen said mine is 600 gr and I confirmed it is fine (I spoke Indonesian). However, when paying they said it was 1.6kg (mind you, 2 people can't finish 1.6kg of fish, usually it is for sharing big group) and we still ordered 2 other dishes plus rice. They even tried to confirm again with kitchen but they still said it was 1.6kg and in the end they "fixed" it to 1kg (which I was still overpaid because it was 600gr). Also, the fish was quite small, 1kg and above will be really big.<br><br>2. I felt sick some hours after the dinner, really early morning like 4am or 5am, my stomach was really hurt and I got diarrhea the whole day and I vomitted. Wasn't sure what happened and I was sick for the next 2 days. Even worse because I had a big family event the next day.<br><br>If you want to try this restaurant, just be really careful. Especially those dishes paid by weight. The other dishes taste was also okay(ish), nothing spectacular. Next time in Bali, I definitely go to another restaurant in Jimbaran.

Worst dining experience.<br><br>21minutes for them to get the coconut out<br>29minutes to get the first 2 dishes out<br>48minutes to get the RICE and 3rd dish out<br>ended up canceling our 4th dish.<br><br>Honestly, I'm okay to wait, if I'm getting a good quality seafood.<br>you can judge the food from my picture, plus the cockroaches on the wall are extremely disgusting<br><br>(please pray that I won't get another episode of bali-belly after the slimy prawn)
