If you want good food at a relaxed pace, this place is perfect.

We are visiting from the United States on our honeymoon and are always on the lookout for amazing local food that won't give us food poisoning. Check and check. We were staying at the Mimpi resort. They have us bikes and this was a 3 min bike ride from the hotel, easy peasy.

We came for fish and got the Ikan Bakar (grilled snapper) Pepes Ikan (fish steamed in banana leaves) and Udeng Goreng (grilled prawns). Everything was amazing.

They were out of fish when we arrived but we sat and drank a few beers while they went to grab some for us. Everything was delicious. It was spicy enough for my wife but not too spicy for me. Plus they provided sambals if you wanted to turn up the heat.

The owner owns a dive company, too, so he's used to tourists. All the veggies were washed in clean water which put our minds at ease.

Loved the family style food and relaxed atmosphere and really appreciated that they went out in the rain to get us more beer, too.

Def recommend for tourists who want a local food experience within walking distance of the hotel and would go regularly if we lived here.

Note: The sign says De Taro not Ikan Bakar. I think they are a Babi Guleg restaurant that started serving fish too.

This is the worst place I've ever eaten.
I read good reviews and decided to go out for dinner with my daughter.
My daughter has an intolerance to onions. We asked for the food to be prepared without onions, but the employee said it was impossible. There was pork on the menu, and she offered it without onions. I chose fish.
While we were waiting for our dishes, a cat screamed hysterically nearby, then climbed onto the next table and started eating the uncollected scraps. Meanwhile, a second cat climbed onto the display case and started eating the meatballs on skewers. No one stole the cats. There were also two mangy dogs lying under our table.
What did we get?
The fish, which was recommended as "the best," turned out to be full of bones, without meat.
A 2 cm piece of pork, the rest was inedible, which we had to throw out for the dogs. They also served the meatballs on skewers that the cat had previously eaten.
* Onions IN EVERYTHING! Even though we told our daughter right away that she had a food intolerance.
We couldn't eat peacefully: the cats were screaming, the dogs were begging, and the animals were trying to get to our food.
The food made us sick. Nothing tasted good. My daughter and I both had headaches after dinner.
My daughter started vomiting on the way there. By the time she got to the hotel, she had vomited multiple times. She can't eat onions!!!
And the food isn't cheap. The bill was 128,000 rupees. And to my outrage, they added a 15% SERVICE CHARGE!!! For this service!
Don't go here, even if it's the only cafe in the village. Better finish the canned food from your room or go to the next village. Your health is more important.
